At TextNow, our mission statement is to connect the world by creating the most exceptional and affordable wireless phone service. We are proud to be able to bring our affordable service and mobile phones to the public.

This is why we're committed to constantly improving our services, and ensuring they are being used by our customers with the same integrity and values around which TextNow was created. 

We have full documentation on our various policies on our website, including our Privacy Policy and our Terms Of Use. This article will highlight some important parts of those policies with the first priority of protecting our customers. We urge you to look over the full documents in addition to this article.

TextNow reserves the right to terminate any account we feel has been engaging in activity that breaks any applicable laws or company policies.

You must be thirteen (13) years or older to use TextNow. When you sign up for a TextNow account, you are agreeing that you are at least thirteen years old, and we reserve the right to terminate your account if we feel you have misrepresented your age.

What information do you ask for when signing up with TextNow?

When you sign up for TextNow, we ask you to enter a valid email address. We'll ask you to create a unique username for your account, as well as entering your first and last name and birth date. 

You can also choose to sign up through your existing Facebook account, by entering your Facebook email address and Facebook password.

How does TextNow share information?

In the cases of personal or sensitive information being shared between TextNow and other apps or services, TextNow will ask for your consent before sharing anything. In other words, you will have to opt-in for personal or sensitive information to be shared.

TextNow may also share anonymous data and statistics with third-party services or tools to help us improve our services and features.

We will also comply with subpoenas for information from recognized legal authorities, through proper legal channels. We do not reply to requests from individuals asking for subscriber information that would violate the privacy of our customers. 

Does TextNow own the content I write or post?

We do not. You own your own intellectual property, and by posting on TextNow you agree to let us use that intellectual property for transmission over TextNow.

Does TextNow backup all of my content?

You are responsible for creating back-up copies of your content. TextNow is under no obligation to backup your content, including messages, call logs, pictures, or other data. 

What is spamming? Does TextNow allow for spamming?

Spamming is the sending of messages in order to promote a business or solicit money from other TextNow users or message recipients. We do our best on our end to block people who are using TextNow for this or any other nefarious purpose. Periodically, we run checks on our servers to block people who are engaging in activity that potentially could be harmful.

TextNow reserves the right to block accounts we feel are being used for spamming or any other fraudulent activity.

If a person is using TextNow to harass me or for an otherwise bad purpose, what can I do?

There are a number of blocking tools we have in place to block TextNow (and non-TextNow users) from harassing or otherwise unwanted calls and texts. For more information, please see our articles on user harassment and blocking numbers here

    Hey Sally! That is certainly a possibility. All you have to do is log into the same TextNow account on the secondary phone, and your information and number will remain the same.

    Hi Ashlynn! You can certainly change the email address, however, the username itself is the only field that cannot be edited.

    If someone calls and hears call rejected does other still recieve or can They still see and read text sent to them?

    Hi there! If someone calls your TextNow number and get a "call rejected" message, then you most likely have them blocked.
    If that is the case, they cannot receive nor send any calls or messages to and from you.

    So I created my account through the Facebook option. How much of my fb info is involved in this app? Is it only my name & email? When someone tried calling me on Facebook, when I got on this app it said I had a missed call from the friends number from fb. So I need to know If someone has me blocked on fb and I text them off my text app number will they still receive it? Or Simce I’m blocked via fb & this is kind of tied to my fb they won’t?

    Hi Britt! Your TextNow account being attached to your Facebook will generally only use your Facebook email and login information for easier signing in.

    With regards to Facebook contacts, they would have to block your phone number separately if they do not wish to hear from you.

    If I created an account on text now by signing up with a Facebook account & the Facebook account didn't belong to me but my significant other and I both have access to it... then my significant other gets angry removes my registered email account on the text now app and then deletes my linked textnow account from his Facebook too, is there any possible way for me to regain access to my account to obtain personal information, contacts or data, I had saved to it?

    Hey Matthew! I'm afraid that without any sort of verification of the account (ie. username, email address), we won't be able to assist much in granting you back access to the account.

    I was kicked out of my account try to reset the password 3 times but keep getting told that the username or password is invalid. What do I do? I'm on someone else's account trying to just communicate it's like pulling teeth to get ahold of someone

    I previous had an account but it expired..That previous account had important information that I now need. Is there a way that I can get back the same number with the messages?     I paid for service on the 27th or 28th of Feb. I lost my sim card. And have not used a bit of the service. What can be done to resolving this?
