How To Send A Picture With TextNow

Who doesn't like sending a picture to your friends? Here's how you can with TextNow!

TextNow gives you two ways to send a picture - either from your existing pictures on your device, or directly from the camera on your device, and you can do it all without leaving the TextNow app.

How To Text A Picture Directly From The Camera:

1. Open your TextNow app and either start a new conversation or open an existing conversation.

2. Tap on the camera icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your conversation page, to the right of where it says Type a message

3. The panel on the lower left shows what's in your camera's frame right now. You can tap and hold the circle to record a short video, or tap it once to take a snapshot...

4. If you like what you see, tap the Send arrow to send the picture to your contact! If you want to take another picture, tap the back button in the top left hand corner and try again.

How To Text A Picture From Your Existing Photos:

1. Open your TextNow app and either start a new conversation or open an existing conversation.

2. Tap on the camera icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your conversation page, to the right of where it says Type a messageSwipe to the left on the picture grid underneath Type a message to scroll through the pictures available on your device.

Not at all! If you're having issues with sending a picture message, it may be that the picture itself is not saved on your device or that your recipient's plan doesn't include mms messaging. Whatever the case may be, try to speak with one of our live chat representatives for a better understanding of the error you're running into and how we can help you!

When I'm logging in, it gives me an option to open the app through Face Book...What is the difference from logging in normally either on your cell or computer or by logging in through Face Book? Is there more options available to me if I use Text Now through Face Book? Also where I don't have the camera icon to send a picture message, would I be able to send pictures if I were logged in through FB? & when using Text Now through FB would I be able to send pictures straight from my FB picture albums? PLZ HELP ASAP!!!!!

Hey Jenny! So there a couple of things to consider here:

    1. Logging in through Facebook will make no difference, other than the fact that you don't have to remember your TextNow login credentials, and can simply sign in through your Facebook ones.
    2. If you're using the web browser exclusively, the "camera" icon won't show up when you're creating a new conversation (sending a contact a message for the first time). Once you do have an active conversation, the camera icon will show up in the text box where it says "write a reply" over to the right.

Hope that helps a bit more!

Why can I not find pictures that were sent to me last week an last month? They were important photos that I need for tomorrow's court appearance! How can I retrieve them?

    Hey Dean!

Usually, mms messages cannot be stored for more than 30 days. Now, the ones that were sent last week should still be available, unless you deleted them specifically. At this point in time, they may only be retrieved thorough a subpoena request if they are deleted from the app. You can find out more information on how to obtain the order here!

For some reason, the camera icon won't show up in the right corner of the screen. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but so far, nothing's changed. What can I do so that I can send videos and pictures?

Hey there! It seems like you're using the Android app, so all you'd have to do is find the camera icon on the texting box (right-hand side) when you go to compose a message. To be more specific, it will be right next to the 'Type a message' wording.

    hope that helps!

TextNow Support Members, Tell us how to send an MMS (picture•text) along with a comment that we typed describing the Picture all at the same time.. Because all I see is that you have to send a Picture in one text and your comment in a seperate text..

This ought to be a good trick that most of us who use TextNow are wondering how it's done... DRUM ROLL PLEASE !!!

Hey Daniel! I'm afraid that I don't have a promising answer for you.

We currently don't support commenting on a picture before sending it off, however, this is a request that I will be passing along to our developers for future improvement!

Re finding photos sent- I save all important photos to my tablet. Then they are available anytime I want them.
Re: Sending a text and a photo as a single message- That would be a nice option to have. Meanwhile I send a text that says "photo follows".
Thanks for a great service. I like it a lot. Use it on my Samsung Android tablet. Now could you make it available for my Linux Ubuntu laptop?

Hey Felicia! You seem to be running quite an old version of the TextNow app. I'd recommend to first try and update it in the Google PlayStore and give it another try!

Will there be an update that allows user to send multiple photos at once or to be able to actually send a photo with a text message instead of separately??

Hey Raven! This is a feature that we are working on being able to support in the near future :)

I suddenly stopped being able to send MMS messages tonight, but I can still receive them. I restarted my phone, cleared the app cache, deleted and reinstalled the app, and tried it on Wi-Fi and carrier data with different recipients.

Alexander, I had the same issue all this evening as well!! I sent photos and resent them and my friend still wouldn't receive them. I too, rebooted my phone and tried sending the photos again and nothing. I even tried sending from the text now desktop app and she still didn't receive them....

How do you upload old photos from text now app

Today I noticed a new icon when I sent a text. I CAN NOW SEND A PHOTO AND A TEXT AS A SINGLE SEND ACTION. There is a new camera icon just to the left of the smiley-face by "Type a message?. Tapping the camera icon brings up a bunch of photos from my photo gallery as well as a black rectangle for snapping a new photo with the camera. Tapping a gallery photo adds it to the message box. Then the command reads "Add comment or send". I sent a photo and some text to my flip-phone and it arrived as two separate messages, text and photo. THANK YOU TEXTNOW.

Using Samsung Galaxy Tab4 tablet running Android 5.0.2 and TextNow 5.67.0.
